The Stylaero Board looks like a mouse pad and allows you to connect your toys as controllers. For example, you can play a car game with a toy car, or a horse game with a toy horse. The Stylaero Board also has professional applications, including being tested in digital pathology to store information about specific movements.

“We have followed the research team behind Stylaero and observed stable positive development. We saw an opportunity to try a new concept and enter as co-founder and lead investor, and with our investment, enable the company to have a full-time entrepreneur from the start,” says Jonas Nilsson at LiU Invest.

Stylaero AB was created from research at Linköping University, where positioning in space was studied. The world-leading research team, led by Professor Fredrik Gustafsson, has previously been successful with spin-offs Softube and Nira Dynamics.

“After five years of research, we are finally ready to take the next step thanks to the investment from LiU Invest. It’s great to see a complete team ready to bring the technology to market!” says Fredrik Gustafsson.

Oscar Spaak joins as CEO and co-founder. Business developer Oscar Spaak, formerly an innovation advisor at LiU Innovation, has extensive experience supporting both students and researchers in their start-up companies. Oscar has assisted the research team since spring 2016 and early on won best business idea and pitch in Venture Cup East.

“Today, technology from the early 1800s is used to control computers; it’s time for a change, and we are helping to create this change. We envision a future where technology adapts to the user, and we can offer a first step today,” says Oscar Spaak.
