XperDi, a research spin-off from Link\u00f6ping University, develops and markets a CAD configurator to automate repetitive design tasks. The first version of the product is on the market, and the company already has paying customers. The automation of design tasks leads to higher quality at a lower cost.<\/p>\n

LiU Invest invests in companies based on ideas and results originating from Link\u00f6ping University. Mehdi Tarkian, founder and majority owner of XperDi, is a researcher at the Department of Machine Design. He has worked for a long time on the algorithms and methods that form the basis of the product and comments on the investment: \u201cAs a researcher, you want to see your research being put to use, which is why I founded XperDi,\u201d and he continues, \u201cAt Link\u00f6ping University, you are encouraged to commercialize your research, and by bringing in LiU Invest as a co-owner of the company, it was easier for us to find angel investors who wanted to invest.\u201d<\/p>\n
