Pressure ulcers cause significant suffering and substantial healthcare costs. PUsensor is developing a device to assess the risk of a patient developing pressure ulcers. For at-risk patients, preventive measures can be implemented early, before pressure ulcers develop, thereby reducing both suffering and costs.   <\/p>\n<p>Pressure ulcers are common in many areas of healthcare, not just hospital care. Up to one in six hospitalized patients currently suffers from pressure ulcers, which causes great suffering and demands significant resources from healthcare providers.
