Sam Issa and his company, Nano Textile Solutions, won the 2022 SKAPA Award. The company has developed a textile woven with heat-shrinkable polymer material and conductive material, allowing an electric current to pass through the fabric to change its size. Although the idea was Sam\u2019s own, the company received support during development from researchers at IFM, the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Link\u00f6ping University. <\/p>\n
The first application is a riding boot, for which the company already has a customer.<\/p>\n
The investment is being made in collaboration with the University of Bor\u00e5s, and the company is a member of the Bor\u00e5s Ink incubator. Based in central Bor\u00e5s, the incubator operates within a cluster of companies, research institutes, educational institutions, and business organizations with the shared vision of being Europe’s leading science park for textiles and fashion.<\/p>\n
